Steady Progress on 2024 Bond
From renders to construction contracts, things are moving forward
The Longview ISD Board of Trustees approved significant construction projects, security system upgrades, and the 2025-26/2026-27 instructional calendars during their regular meeting Monday, Feb. 10, 2025.
“Our goal is to create learning environments that inspire students to achieve their best, whether in the classroom, on the field, or in a technical lab,” said Dr. Marla Sheppard, Superintendent of Schools.
“These facilities reflect our commitment to preparing students for success in college, careers, and beyond.”
Important for parents to know: The Board also approved the instructional calendars for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school years.

We are making history, with Longview FFA now recognized as the largest FFA chapter in Texas and the nation, boasting an impressive 1,319 members.
This achievement reflects our commitment to agricultural education and leadership development, providing students with unparalleled opportunities for personal growth and career readiness.
In 2024, Longview voters approved all five propositions of the bond package, marking a turning point in the district’s mission to provide exceptional learning environments and opportunities for its students.
"This bond represents so much more than just bricks and mortar-it represents our collective belief in the potential of every child in Longview ISD."
— Dr. Marla Sheppard
